Krishna Janmashtami is a festival that is celebrated all over India. They celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna with a lot of pomp and enthusiasm. Since Lord Krishna was born at midnight, the devotees fast, sing devotional songs, and take part in the rituals. The rituals include washing the statues of baby Krishna and after that its placed for worship. Later the devotees break their fast and enjoy the festival with some food and sweets. Dahi Handi is also an important part of the festival. The pot which is filled with curd is hung at a height and a group of people get together and form a pyramid, to reach the Handi. This way, the auspicious festival, Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated across India with a lot of joy and happiness.
