Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most-awaited and prominent festivals of India. It celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha. He is also called Vighnaharta (the one who removes obstacles), Gajanana, Ganapati being few among his 108 names. The preparations for this festival start almost a week before itself. Artisans start preparing beautiful clay idols of Ganesha in different poses and sizes. On the first day of the festival, people install the statues of Ganesha, and it ends with visarjan, where the statue is immersed in water and the devotees pray for the return of Lord Ganesha every year. People celebrate this joyous festival by singing, playing religious songs, dancing to drum beats, etc. Since Lord Ganesha loves Modaks, it's one of the most important sweet dishes that's prepared for the festival. People from different parts of India come together to celebrate this auspicious festival
