On this day, wake up in the morning and retire from bath etc. Then both brothers and sisters together worship Yama, Chitragupta and Yama's messengers. Pray to all and all of them. Then the sister applies ghee and rice teak to her brother. After this, the brother is given vermilion, betel leaf, betel nut and dry coconut. After this the sister ties Kalawa in her brother's hand and makes the mouth sweet. On this day sister prays for her brother's long life.
